The Social Action Committee welcomes all of you to participate in a number of
programs during the next month to support both the Jewish and secular
communities in need. I hope you will all join with your families and take part
in these meaningful initiatives.

Sunday, December 17th Family Table Distribution DayVolunteers are needed to pack and deliver groceries to needy families serviced by Family Table, Boston's Greater Boston Food Pantry. Arrive at Jewish Family and Children's Services in Waltham at 11:00 - 11:30 AM. Please contact Elyse Levin-Russman ASAP for more details and to volunteer. 10 drivers are needed from our congregation. Please note that this was rescheduled from last month due the lack of volunteers from our community available to participate.Monday, December 25th Project Ezra, Christmas DayThis year volunteers are needed to assist South Shore Elder Services to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors on the South Shore. As part of Project Ezra, we are providing our assistance so that their usual volunteers can spend Christmas with their families. We need 6-8 drivers on this day. You will need to come to Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth at 11 AM on the 25th, where you will collect the meals to be delivered. You will be delivering in either Braintree, Weymouth or Hull. The deliveries will be grouped together by location and should take no more than about an hour. Please respond to me no later than December 8th if you are interested in helping.Family Table Hanukkah Food DriveTemple Beth Abraham has been asked to provide APPLESAUCE as part of the special items delivered to Family Table recipients on Hanukkah. We need to collect 75 jars of applesauce prior to Hanukkah. Please bring your contributions to the Temple, and leave them in the coatroom (you will notice a sign and bags ready for your donation) These must be brought to the Temple no later than December 13th, so that they can be delivered to Family Table in time for their distribution that Sunday.Jewish Family and Children's Services Kol Isha Cell Phone DriveThere is a box in the coatroom of the Temple in which you can bring your used cell phones, which will be donated to support the services of Kol Isha, JFCS's Domestic Violence program.
