    Prayer

Prayer has been described as a spiritual workout: An experience, which has the power to change each and every person. That transformative power, however, is not contagious. Congregants cannot "catch it" from the rabbi, cantor, or shaliach tzibur - service leader. Each person must experience it for him or herself. Each person must see himself or herself as an equal participant in the sacred service of God. Toward this end, we always strive to make services at TBA accessible, engaging and participatory. Music, movement, story, discussion and explanation are all vehicles for taking our moments of prayer off of the bimah - pulpit and into each person's heart.

All members of our community, both men and women are encouraged to participate fully in our worship. Kippot - skull caps and tallitot - prayer shawls for men and women are available immediately outside the sanctuary. While women are invited to wear a kippah and a tallit, all males must wear a kippah when in the building and Jewish adult males past the age of Bar Mitzvah must wear a tallit when in the sanctuary. All females must wear a head covering when on the bimah.

And prayer isn't just for adults. TBA proudly offers three children's services twice each month in addition to family services and special Shabbat and Holiday celebrations throughout the year for the entire community. Click on one of the links below to learn more...then come join us and pray!
